Just a taste...

I thought I'd do a little "tutorial" on how to do bows, but there's so many different kinds, where would I start?! Well, I'm starting with posting some of the bows I've been doing. These are just a few, oh, and I threw a flower in there too, if you want to know how to make any of them let me know and I can whip that up. Possibly. I mean I WILL do it, it just might not be especially fast? I'll try. :) On to the hairbows!!

Here's a loopy bow, I'm planning on making a lot more, they are soooo cute!

This is like a stacked bow, or a boutique bow.

Big bow, boutique bow.

long tails bow

And here's the flower, I have tons of other flowers, if you have questions about other kinds.

I also am just getting in to these little clips, I think they're really fun and super cute!

I'm going to try butterflies, and lady bugs and all sorts of different ones, fun huh?

This is just a normal bow, one I would make in pairs.

I wrap the clips in ribbon, but here's a tip for you: Don't wrap the wribbon all the way around, stop at the bottom. Its too hard to put it through the hair with the ribbon covering the tip.

From the back, so what I was saying, this bottom part shouldn't have ribbon, only the very end of it, after her glue the bend. Probably doesn't make any sense, I'll post more pictures of that later!

Let me know if you want to learn or if you have any questions. Also other GREAT sites are here and here!

Hair!

So I totally love doing hair, I've been doing hair since I was in the 9th grade, can't tell you how many "prom" hairstyles I've done. The point of all this, you're wondering? The point is that my little girls were not blessed by the hair gods. Its a sad, sad thing. They both have super fine hair, and my oldest? Oh my, my oldest. She has the biggest cowlick right on the front of her hairline, she can only part her hair on the right side, it will not go to the left. So anyway, sometimes doing my girls' hair is a slight challenge. I decided we would try growing it out now (they both have really cut bobs) and see if it thickens up or something. If you're in the same boat as me, maybe this will help. Every now and again, I'll post some different hairstyles and hopefully you'll like them! Yay! Or maybe you'll hate them. Boo. Either way, here goes.

This first one is my younger daughter, her hair is super fine and stringy, but she's super cute so she can pull it off. Sort of. This could be really cute on someone with thick long hair, just after you curl it you can pin up the curls all over, very pretty. As for little one here, she looks more like a Spartan, or maybe like a mohawk. I think it was super cute in person though.

First pull all the hair into pony tails, one after another. Usually you add the hair from the first to the next and so on, but I left all the hair out. This is when her hair was still a little damp and before I curled it. I guess you could leave it like this if you were going for something funky?

Here's what it looked like curled, from the back.

different angle...

Here's what she looked like from the front, we did add a flower clip to that top pony on one side, it was very sweet and pretty with the curls.

All in all this is pretty fast and easy, but with a cute look too! I've been working on hair bows and such a lot lately, so I'm sure I'll post pictures of those soon. Maybe I'll do a little tutorial on how to make bows? Who knows?! Not me.

I know...I know....

Obviously, I haven't been keeping up on posting for this blog--but that doesn't mean I haven't been doing anything crafty or fun! Well, maybe it means that a little bit, but hey, I am trying!
It has been a little screwy here with my oldest starting kindergarten (crazy, I know!) and having an almost four month old and then going back to work, plus my husband's working full time and going to school too. Did I say screwy? I meant MANIACAL!! hee hee thats a great word... (I use thesaurus.com sometimes when I need a lift and I get tired of saying 'crazy'. Just so you know. If you couldn't figure it out. Whatev.)
So anyway, this did have a point somewhere. And that is: I HAVE been doing stuff, just not quite as much as I would like to. What I have done: I've been doing some bows, sort of, and I totally will post pictures of those....someday. Also been doing daughter's hair for school every day pretty cute (well almost everyday) and thought I could post some of those, just to give some idea's if you're in a rut. Also been trying to bake and cook more and found a recipe for these AWESOME and EASY (even better!!!) cookies! Gonna post the recipe now. Go! :

Buy a package of 'Oreos' (I even bought the cheap store brand and they still rocked)
Get a 8 oz. package of cream cheese (softened)
and you'll need some almond bark as well.

Take the Oreos and the cream cheese, and stick them in your food processor. Grind and mix them until its all mixed into a pasty wad. (sounds appetizing ha? but it truly is!) Roll the wad out into little balls (I smooshed mine down so they looked like peppermint patties, I think they're better that way), and then stick them in the fridge to cool and firm up. While they're doing that, get our your almond bark and start melting it. When its ready, dip your little patties in it and set aside to cool. The recipe also said you could decorate them with little candies or candy canes. I added crushed up candy canes to half of them and thought the plain ones were just as amazing, so next time I won't even go to the effort with the candy canes. But maybe some other candy would be even better? Try it out if you want! But thats pretty much it. After dipping and they're cool, just eat 'em! Oh seriously, had them yesterday and I'm still thinking about them.... yum... gonna make more soon...
You'll have to tell me if you try them and if you loved them as much as I did! Scratch that, if you don't like them I don't want to know, you can't ruin this for me! Gonna go rummage through my pantry now for some sweet sugary goodness....
